The purpose of this page is to highlight news relevant to Parnassos mission. Members and Friends of Parnassos are invited to suggest relevant news to be listed. The Parnassos Executive will be the final judge on the suitability of the submissions. It is currently assumed that this page will be updated quarterly. The following is an example.

  • EU includes Parthenon Marbles return demand in Brexit talks' draft document

    A long-running dispute between Britain and Greece over ancient treasures has spilled into tensions over Brexit after a demand for the return of stolen cultural artefacts was added to the draft of a European Union negotiating mandate.


  • Cypriot communities piecing together their shared heritage

    A cardboard model of the ancient walled city of Nicosia sits on a table at the Home For Cooperation. It was crafted by Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot children. A symbolic result of a summer family activity where children from both communities learned about what monuments are and the importance of preserving them.


The Culture Ministry is planning eight interventions to improve access,
safety and cost-efficiency at the Athens Acropolis, Greece’s foremost
archaeological monument, which receives some 1.5 million visitors a year.
